If needed, the French placement test can be taken online prior to arrival. If entering freshmen cannot be pre-placed into the appropriate English and Math course level, with the help of SAT or ACT scores, they will be required to take placement tests in English and Mathematics during Orientation. Visiting students take the French placement test only if they intend to register for a French course, and the Mathematics placement test only if they plan to register for classes in Mathematics. All transfer students are required to take the English placement test on campus during Orientation. They are only required to take the Mathematics placement test if this requirement has not been fulfilled by a course transferred in from their prior institution. Placement test results do not appear on any official record.
