In the aftermath of the Russian annexation of Crimea since February-March 2014, many have argued that the US, Europe, and Russia are entering into a “new Cold War.” This course will first explicate the roots of the present US-European-Russian crisis and then explore whether or not the world is heading toward a situation that is somewhat like the Cold War, or more like previous epochs in geopolitical history, or else something that is entirely "new."
