Covers the skills critical to developing and launching new products, building business ventures, and evaluating the viability of early stage ventures. Considers the various stages in the venture design process, pre-idea essentials and considerations for developing private sector for-profit, nonprofit, and social venture ideas.


Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand conventional and contemporary consulting methods in a professional environment.
  2. Demonstrate problem-solving in an organizational context, including information gathering, data analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  3. Produce a professional quality report on management consulting objectives.
  4. To understand conventional and critical approaches and frameworks of management consultancy in business practices.
  5. To develop the ability to analyze complex (“wicked”) problems, where great uncertainty is present, in a business consultancy process.
  6. To apply interdisciplinary and multi-modal approaches to management issues.
  7. To understand the difference between local, regional, and global levels of management consultancy, as well as the inherent conflicts and paradoxes that may arise between these levels.
  8. To investigate some of the common historical narratives of management and explore how they influence our current perceptions
  9. To understand contemporary organization theories and concepts and apply them to current issues, problems, and opportunities involved in contemporary organizations, business, and management.
  10. To help you acquire practical experience in dealing with management consultancy issues.
  11. To learn to work in teams to achieve mutual goals.
